Build and edit your form
Review questions, sections and signature settings before distributing your Formesign form.

The editor is where you turn an imported source or generated outline into a form people can complete. Begin with the intended result: which answers staff need, who supplies them, and which person signs each part.
Review the imported or generated form
Open the form from your dashboard. Use its editing view to inspect the title, descriptions, questions and sections. A generated outline can contain suggested questions; keep only those required by your process. For approved document text, compare the complete wording with your source before making changes.
- Select the question you want to change.
- Review its label, help text and answer type. Use a short answer for a brief value and a longer text field for an explanation.
- Set requiredness deliberately. A required field blocks completion when it is empty; an optional internal field should not prevent a respondent submitting their part.
- Group related questions into sections and check any page or conditional behavior.
- Review the change in Preview and then in the actual signing link.
Configure signature and identity together
Use the signature setup to select the signer role and mode. Simple signature and Verified signature have different access and identity behavior. An ordinary text question renamed “Signature” is not the same as configuring a Formesign signature field.
For more than one person, decide between signatures in one response and separate workflow steps. Give staff-only questions the correct permissions rather than relying on a description that asks respondents to ignore them.
Review what happens after submit
Check the confirmation and any configured redirect, notification, workflow handoff or PDF output. A confirmation email and a final signed-copy email may occur at different stages. Your board status is also a separate setting from whether every signature has been collected.
Update a collecting form carefully
Read the current form and identify where responses go before changing required questions, calculations, signer fields or approved wording. Preview the revised path and check existing shared links. Do not assume an edit regenerates historical signed documents or migrates existing responses.
