Prepare a Sheet and select what is signed
Choose the spreadsheet content to sign and understand the source relationship.

Prepare a Sheet tab that reads as a complete request on its own. A recipient should be able to understand what they are reviewing without access to your other spreadsheet tabs or internal working notes.
Select a meaningful tab
Choose the tab containing the request to be signed. Give it a clear title and include the relevant reference, parties, amounts, dates and explanation. Check the actual displayed values; internal formulas are useful for calculating the request, but the signing document needs readable results.
Remove information that does not belong in the recipient's review. Do not rely on a hidden or distant cell to explain a key value. If a source contains sensitive information unrelated to the request, prepare an appropriately limited version before connecting it.
Understand what setup does
The Sheet signature entry accepts the source link or a Drive selection. Multiple tabs produce Which tab do you want signed?. Formesign reads the chosen tab as document content and opens signer setup.
A spreadsheet used as a source is not a response Sheet. Connecting one does not automatically create an output row for each signer, send a request per source row, or place signatures into arbitrary cells. Configure and verify any output connection separately.
Review the prepared document
- Open the resulting signing document before sending it.
- Compare its title, table content and values with the intended tab.
- Check whether wrapped text, headings and totals are readable.
- Review the signer roles and how their signatures appear in the output.
- After changing the source, inspect the current prepared request again rather than assuming every change is reflected automatically.
For repeated visits, an existing source-to-form setup can be reused. Check that the reopened setup is the one you intended before changing signer roles or sharing a link.
Verify access and results
A pasted source link may still need access authorization through Browse. Complete only the permissions appropriate for that Sheet and account. If organization policy prevents the required access, ask its administrator rather than making the Sheet public.
Use a sample request to inspect the signed document and retained record. If the problem is missing source content, return to the selected tab and prepared document. If the problem is a missing response row, use response sync and record troubleshooting instead.
