Invitation missing or signing link fails

Distinguish invitations, reminders and completed copies while checking recipients, workflow timing, access and missing attachments.

First identify what is missing: the original signing invitation, a reminder, or the completed copy. Each can use different recipients and timing. A public form link also behaves differently from a link assigned to one signer in a workflow.

Check the request in Formesign

Open the intended response and inspect its signature activity. Request sent is an invitation event; Signed is a completed action. If the person's step is later in a sequential process, the workflow may still be waiting for the preceding signer.

Confirm the recipient address saved for this particular response. A fixed address in setup and a respondent-provided email field are different sources. Correcting the form's default recipient does not prove that an already-created request now has a different recipient.

If the email is missing

  1. Check the address for spelling and the correct mailbox.
  2. Check spam, quarantine and mailbox rules.
  3. Confirm that the expected notification or invitation is configured for this stage.
  4. Check whether the preceding required signing step is complete.
  5. Ask the recipient to use the latest request intended for them if an earlier message was replaced or corrected through a supported action.

Do not forward another person's signer-specific link as a general workaround. The task can be tied to that person's role or response access.

Check that the full link was preserved and that the recipient is using the requested Google account or supported sign-in method. A collaborator editor link, the original Google Form URL and the Formesign signing link are not interchangeable.

If a security or access error appears, retain its exact wording and ask the form owner to verify the recipient and access configuration. A signer who cannot open a request should contact the sender; they normally cannot repair the owner's Google permissions.

If the attachment is missing

For a completed copy, confirm all required signatures and the emailed-copy configuration. Some workflow invitations arrive before the final signed PDF exists. Review attachment choices for that notification rather than assuming every email includes the record.

The owner can test the same configuration with synthetic content and a controlled mailbox. Record which event produced each email and whether its recipient, link and attachment were correct. If the problem persists, use the support checklist without posting private invitation links or signed documents publicly.
